Mitchell Wilson, owner and proprietor of Fry Street Public House, has commissioned a mural for the wall of Public House facing the UNT campus. This project is supported by the association of Fry street bars including Public House, Toms Daiquiri, Lucky Lou’s, Fry Street Tavern, and the Denton Garage, that have generously provided the prize money for the winning concept submission.
Artists can submit a written or visual outline of their mural concept, with any relevant experience. Submissions will be juried by Keep Denton Beautiful Inc, and out of the top 3 submissions Mr. Wilson will select the winner and runner-up. The mural will be a representation of the Fry Street bars and Denton community. The prize is intended to cover a 75 sq. ft. mural, with exact sizing and dimensions flexible based on the submission.
The theme or design concept should be fun and festive and speak to the amenities offered and the history of great live music and street events.
All 10 neighborhood bar logos (will be provided) will need to be featured somewhere in the design.
The mural can include your signature, and must include the Keep Denton Beautiful Inc logo in the bottom left or right corner, on or below the mural itself.
Designs should be bright and vibrant.
Mural should be close to a 75 square foot area, but exact sizing and dimensions are flexible. For example, the mural could be 5ft x 15ft, 4ft x 18ft, etc. Unique designs should still cover that space or more, but do not necessarily have to fully cover the space with paint.
